I'll get you, my pretty! And your little soul, too!
Freddy Krueger is a sadistic Bugs Bunny with pro wrestler one-liners at the ready in this 6th installment of The Nightmare on Elm Street franchise. This is Freddy at his most campy and quippy, but don’t worry, there’s plenty of body horror and bizarro effects for the greasy horror fan.
Freddy’s Dead is the only film of the BIG 3 slasher franchises (Freddy, Jason, Michael) directed by a woman: Rachel Talalay (best known for Tank Girl) says her inspirations were Twin Peaks and John Waters. Parts goofy, surreal, and disturbing, this film is best served after enjoying an adult beverage or two.
This screening will be hosted by Liz Tyson @tysoncreation, the window display artist whose huge 3D glasses display is up 24/7 until November at We Luv Video. The final 10 minutes of the film are in 3D - glasses will be provided! Doors at 7 (there will be a preshow). Film starts at 7:30.
Runtime 89 mins.
This project is supported in part by the City of Austin Office of Arts, Culture, Music and Entertainment.
